Snow again...

urggghhhh! I am sick of it already. The wind is really howling outside and snow is blowing all over the place. A great day to sit down next to the fireplace, read the paper, and blog.

I am especially grateful these days for what God is doing in my kids. All are serving the Lord Jesus in one capacity or another. I am really proud that they work hard, prioritize education, and serve others. They are great kids!

I keep telling myself I am going to slow down. It doesn't seem that is happening. I really need to... the pace is starting to affect my attitude. (One lady was horrified to see me working on three computers at the same time - a trick that not many can do!- That is what made me think of slowing down) Not exactly sure how to do that. Maybe a Tuesday off every couple weeks or so to do some fishing or to work the beehives. (when I get them going this spring I'll post a video!)I dream of walking the woods, getting the boat out on the lake, shooting my bow, etc when the weather breaks.

Although I hate the snow, I can appreciate the mandatory slowdown of my pace. I guess that maybe the dormancy of this season that we see in the trees and shrubs is there to remind us that we can affford a little dormancy ourselves. Like the Word says... Come unto me and I will give you rest for your souls.... I think I'll go take a nap!

Just got done reading PD’s blog today and thought it was Cute! I guess because most can relate one way or another… I too can recognize that being busy all the time does affect one’s attitude… I’m guilty as charged! I too can only wish I was able to slow down or even begin to know how to slow down… Today I could barely wake up to go to work… Our lives today are so hectic and I find myself saying things like, “There’s not enough time in the day” or “I need more hours in my day” … It’s ridiculous the amount of things I try to squeeze in on a daily basis… It’s like my dad used to tell me… Stop trying to squeeze two pounds of bologna in a one pound bag (b/c it’s not possible)…. Although he was referring to my jeans, I think this quote can relate to more than just jeans… LOL ... My dad still cracks me up! :-)

So Pastor, I have a bee hive in my porch ceiling that you can have :) but seriorsly, I feel what your saying. And you do need your rest and time away. Let me know how we can help to lessen the load. We don't want you to be stressed out, overwhelmed, or tired.

Father, I pray for Pastor Dave, that you will give him the strength he needs to do your work and help that he needs when he wants to rest. I pray Father that he "will" rest when he needs to and not worry about what needs to be done. I pray you will fill him with your joy, peace, and all that you have. I pray you bless his family and protect them. I come against sickness in Jesus name. Hold them and keep them in your arms I pray in Jesus Name, Amen.
